Great gardens of the lockyer valley

WITH an unusually wet winter the 2009 Lockyer Valley Garden Competition has been dubbed a great success by organisers.

The increase in rainfall has allowed the avid green thumb's garden to prosper.

This year's category one Grand Champion Garden was won by a Large Rural Homestead at Forest Hill with UQ Gatton Campus receiving runner-up in the School Garden category.

The Chronicle's Carnival of Flowers Garden Competition was also held with Spring Bluff Railway Station taking out 1st place in the Best Display of Flowering Annuals and Bulbs in the Country garden section.

Here is a list of all the country winners for The Chronicle's Garden Competition from around the Lockyer Valley, many of these gardens are often open for the public to enjoy.
