Grantham man airlifted to hospital after traffic crash
A 49-year-old Grantham man has been airlifted to hospital after a serious traffic crash at Grantham on Sunday night.
The man was the single occupant of the vehicle when it rolled near the railway line between Ditchman's Road and Gatton-Helidon Road around 8.45pm.
Initial information suggests police were conducting patrols along Lawlers Road when they observed a white van travelling on the incorrect side of the road towards them.
They were forced to take evasive action by pulling off the road to avoid impact with the van.
Police performed a U-turn but lost sight of the vehicle before once again coming across it a short distance away.
The vehicle appeared to have rolled several time before becoming stationary.
Queensland Rail were forced to stop trains for several hours while the vehicle was removed from the tracks.
The man remains in a critical but stable condition in the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Anyone with information should contact Gatton Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
