Too many drunk Santas cause event shutdown

GRAFTON'S iconic Santa Crawl has been cancelled this year.

Organisers have just posted this on the Grafton Santa Crawl Facebook page:

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce what seems to be the end of the Grafton Santa Crawl as we have come to know it," it reads.

"Unfortunately the Police from the Coffs Clarence Area Command have not given their support to the event this year citing too many 'drunk people' attending last years event.

"Without the support of the police it is not possible to run the event in its current form.

"This is obviously a disappointment for the organisers, the local hotels and businesses that have supported the event but more importantly for St Vincent De Paul who have come to rely on the event as their major fundraiser for the year."
