Gourmet Food Holdings folds, taking Rosella with it

AUSSIE barbecue staple Rosella sauce is at risk of disappearing from the supermarket shelves after its parent company went into receivership over the weekend.

The future of Gourmet Food Holdings, which produces the sauce and employs hundreds of Australian workers, hangs on an "urgent assessment of the financial position of the group", according to Ferrier Hodgson partner Steve Sherman.

He told the Herald the administrators would be "engaging in discussions with key stakeholders including employees, customers and suppliers to determine whether operations can be continued".

Gourmet Food Holdings employs 300 workers in NSW and Victoria. It was taken over by administrators on Friday after creditors failed to find a buyer.
