Golfing buddies millionaires
YOU could forgive Daniel Simmons and brothers Damien and Graham Dunn if their shots were a touch erratic at the Lowood and District Golf Club on Sunday.
The trio probably had a few other things running through their minds after they pocketed about $2 million in Keno winnings on Saturday night.
They were on a golfing weekend away with their mates when Mr Simmons, 57, convinced the brothers to join him in a few games of Keno at Lowood's Club Hotel.
It was only a few minutes later when the Keno screen flashed up that the jackpot had been won by a ticket purchased at the hotel.
“We had a few drinks and I said to the boys, let's put in $10 each and play some Keno,” said Mr Simmons, a B-double driver.
“When it first came up that there had been a winner at the Club Hotel we didn't know what to think.
“When we found out, you just can't explain the feeling.
“It hasn't sunk in for me yet.
“I'm just really happy for the other two, they're young blokes and this will really set them up for the future.”
Graham Dunn, 32, said he was playing the pokies with brother Damien, 26, when they found out they had won a share of the $1.98 million jackpot.
