Gatton swimmers dive into state championships
SWIMMING: Over the weekend the Queensland Short Course Championships were held at the Sleeman Sports Complex in Brisbane.
It has been a mighty effort with 11 Gatton Swimming Club members making it through into 28 individual events.
The meet ran over two and a half days from Friday afternoon to Sunday.
Gatton was represented well over all the age groups with swimmers from the age of 10 to 20 years.
This was something the club was proud of as it has taken many weeks of training hard over the winter months to make the qualifying times.
Coach David Reinhardt had nothing but praise for all his swimmers.
"They have all worked very hard and it has paid off, congratulations to everyone,” he said.
This week sees the end of the short course training and as of Thursday, September 1 the club will be back into long course which David and the squad are very much looking forward to.
Monday, September 12, is the Gatton Swimming Club's sign on night.
It will be an opportunity for new members to come along and get information about the swimming club for the 2016/17 season.
The first club night will be Monday, October 3, with the committee looking forward to seeing all current members return and welcoming any new members to the club.
