Gatton senior football rundown

HERE are the Gatton football notes from the past week.

Premier Men: Victory is sweet for the second week in a row.

Gatton proved too strong and come away with a 1-0 win over old rival and determined side Rockville.

The goal was awarded from a contentious penalty but Gatton slotted home a perfect shot to give them the lead.

Thanks to the Colts players who again stepped up to play and Jack Godley who kept Gatton in the game with some great work as keeper.

Reserve Men: They can hold their head up even though they went down 2-1 to Rockville.

Greg Leathart scored the goal for Gatton from a well struck penalty shot and the team were extremely unlucky to have further decisions not go their way.

It was a solid team effort with Gatton dominating the game but not managing to equalise with a further goal.

Man of the match went to Jack Godley.

Division One women: Gatton played West Wanderers drawing 1-1, which was a strong result considering the girls were missing the direction and stability of their usual centre midfield pair.

Goal scorer was Hoody.

Player of the match was stand-in captain Dawn Jackwitz.

Great performances from Lydia, Lesley in midfield, Chani and Taleigha in defence and Kayla and Cassie in attack.

All teams are to be commended on their fine efforts.
