Gatton ladies get physical

LADIES across the Lockyer Valley now have a fitness facility to call their own.

The new ladies-only area at the Gatton Sports Centre is freshly painted and fully equipped for those wanting to get started and reach their ultimate health and fitness goals.

Gatton Sports Centre trainer, Rheanne Nielbling, said the air-conditioned facility would be a positive thing for women who wish to maintain or improve current fitness, reduce stress, and lose weight.

“Some women do feel more comfortable in a ladies-only area and with this area they don't have to worry about being intimidated or being looked at while they are exercising,” she said.

“It's about having a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.”

She said the plan had been in motion for quite a while.

“We have had a fair bit of interest in this sort of thing in the past year and it seems to be the right time of year for people to be thinking about their fitness, right after Christmas and New Year.

“It's a great facility for us to have, especially considering where we are, between Toowoomba and Ipswich, apart from Laidley, we are the only gym.”

With a female trainer like Rheanne, who spent time overseas playing squash for Australia, women will continue to be a priority for the Gatton Sports Centre.

“We are looking at putting on some women's classes in a few things like aerobic classes, circuit training and maybe sometime in the future some body pump classes,” she said.

For the month of March, local women have the opportunity to take control of their fitness with deals on membership and personal training sessions.

For enquiries about ladies only classes, contact Rheanne or Michelle on 5462 5103 or drop into the centre.
