Gatton Hawks battle the cold

HERE are the Gatton Hawks results from the juniors for the past week.

U7: Great game in wet conditions. These boys are playing better and better as a team each week. Continue the big effort at training and this team will just keep getting better.

U8: Great game from the under-8s in miserable weather. Great running and tackling from Chad George, Carly Wallis and Dylan Boyd. Big game from Jaiman Jones and Matthew Brooking with both boys giving their all in the wet weather. Tries to Chayse Hoger (3) and Nathan Kleidon (2) who also won the player of the match award.

U10: A slow start by the boys but the last three quarters of the game saw a big improvement. Great team effort in the wet conditions. Good defence from Rylan Martin and Dan Mason. Tries to Dan Ost, Brandan Clarke (3), Liam Tillack (2), Alex Pitura, Ethan Foxwell, Jordan Cook, Jakob Harm and Josh Hoger. Player of the match went to Alex Pitura.

U11: Great game played. Excellent tackling by Connor Little, Casey Jahnke and Michael O'Shea. Boys are training well and improving each week. Thanks to Liam Tillack for playing up. Two tries to Aiden Haines and conversions by Macen Job. Man of the match to Connor Little. Final score: Dalby 26 d Gatton 12.

U12: From the worst performance last game to the best of the year against Dalby. The boys need to keep training well and the results will come. Fantastic running from the forwards with Dylan Webb scoring four tries, Dan Nolan, Cameron Linde, Mitch Wallis all scoring one each. Also good work from the backs with tries to Jesse Martin, Zane Tate, and James Robinson. Conversions by Jay Nolan, Sam Steinhardt, Dylan Webb and Mitch McLaren.

U14: Although being disappointed with the loss, all the boys should be proud of their commitment throughout the game. With the score 0-0 for most of the first half, Dalby went into the break leading 10-0 after Gatton were down to 12 players. The second half saw Gatton fight back to 14-14, but unfortunately costly errors saw Dalby get good field position and eventually score to win the game 20-14. Hard to single out just any one player as all the team gave their all. Tries to Riley Godwin, Lachlan Gorman and Tye Casten. One conversion from Aiden Schmidt. Final score: Dalby 20 d Gatton 14.

Next Saturday Gatton will play Pittsworth at Gatton. U7 and U8 begins at 8.30am.
