APN NRL team of the week
FULLBACK: Chris Sandow (Eels): Shock selection at fullback for NSW Origin rep Jarryd Hayne but carved the Bulldogs' defence to pieces with four tackle-breaks and 119m in a sublime display.
WING: Josh Mansour (Panthers): Probably the unluckiest player not to be wearing a NSW Origin jumper and produced another powerhouse effort with 225 metres in grabbing his 10th try of the year against the Dragons who could not contain him.
CENTRE: Dean Whare (Panthers): Showed his class in scoring a double for the Panthers. Is often overlooked, but rarely far off the pace.
WING: Semi Radradra (Eels): Scored a runaway try and constantly smashed his way through multiple defenders to chalk up 184 mean metres.
FIVE-EIGHTH Gareth Widdop (Dragons): Did everything possible to orchestrate a Dragons win over Penrith with a solid all-round game.
HALFBACK: Mitchell Pearce (Roosters): Produced his second blinder since his Origin snub and his three try-assists broke Newcastle's back. Back to his club best again.
PROP: George Burgess (Rabbitohs): A metre machine. The only player to make more than his 143 tough metres was his big brother Sam who makes our team again. Does the hard work so well.
HOOKER: Jake Friend (Roosters): Very busy game with 120 touches and some big dummy-half dashes to get his forwards rolling, highlighting his excellent game in the middle against Newcastle.
PROP: James Graham (Bulldogs): Stood out in a losing side with another ironman performance for the Dogs. He ran 232m and made 36 tackles and played himself to a standstill.
2ND row: Pauli Pauli (Eels): Has been playing very well but showcased his ball-playing skills at the weekend to lay on a few tries and continue to help the Eels' winning run.
2ND row: Tohu Harris (Storm): Produced his best performance of the year when Melbourne needed someone to stand up in the absence of its Origin stars. He did that magnificently with 188m and 38 tackles. Top effort.
LOCK: Sam Burgess (Rabbitohs): Sam has made just about every APN weekly team. Almost didn't play after suffering back spasms before the game yet smashed out 198m and busted six tackles. Champion effort.
