Free labour for flood victims

A STALWART of business in the Lockyer Valley is Reliner Design, who have been doing business for more than eight years in the region.

They are renowned for their elaborate country kitchens, furniture, lead lights and stained glass, and owner Ron Ruijter, has been in the professional restoring and maintenance business for more than 35 years.

“We would like to offer our expertise, machines and labour to the people affected by the floods to restore their damaged cabinets,” Mr Ruijter said.

Another service they are offering out of goodwill is to hold their flood damaged cabinets for them in storage while they get their lives back on track.

“The costs of replacing glass in china cabinets isn't the materials, but the labour involved - it is a time consuming job,” he said.

“We still have to charge the cost of the materials we use, but we will tell people up front what they are.

“We can see if cabinets are damaged by the flood or not, we can always check them out to see what needs to be done or give a free quote.”
