FOOTY Show host Paul "Fatty" Vautin has been accused of racial profiling after suggesting an audience member would spend his prize money buying alcohol for family in Cairns.

Former South Sydney Rabbitohs player Joe Williams took to Twitter to call for the host to be sacked over the comments.

"Point being, we are sick to death of being labelled as drunks - I haven't had a beer nearly 12 yrs, when's his?" Mr Williams tweeted.

Brisbane Broncos supporter Michael Romelo had won $6600 in the show's Pass for Pesos segment, led by Mr Vautin sporting a sombrero and a thick fake moustache.

"All of your relations in Cairns just went, 'How good, wait until he gets back, we're having a drink'," Mr Vautin remarked while rubbing his hands together.

The comment was greeted by an awkward silence. Channel Nine has denied it had anything to do with racism - a view both accepted and rejected by online commentators.

Mr Williams took the latter stance, saying Mr Vautin should be stood down and forced to apologise because "racial profiling is racism".
