JOHN Eales medallist Israel Folau is hoping to be playing with Kurtley Beale on the Wallabies tour of Europe.
Folau, who polled 314 votes to finish clear of captain Michael Hooper (232) to win the prestigious medal on Thursday night, said Beale should be reinstated.
His Waratahs teammate went into his ARU hearing in Sydney last night over the texting saga involving former team business manager Di Patston.
Beale's career in Australian rugby will almost certainly come to a premature end if found guilty, but Folau hoped he could come through the hearing.
"I've really enjoyed my time playing with him," Folau (pictured) said. "I've formed a really good combination with him at the Waratahs and also through Wallabies level, so for me I'd like to obviously see him back in the team environment.
"But obviously there's a process that has to go on and whatever happens is totally out of my control so it's something for me that I can't worry about.
"I haven't spoken to Kurtley in a while now, so I think most people would want to give him his time, he's had a bit of a tough time the last couple of weeks but I hope he's going really well."
The Wallabies flew out of Australia for their tour of Europe yesterday. They play the Barbarians at Twickenham next Saturday before games against Wales, France, Ireland and England throughout November.
No result from Beale's hearing was available at the time of press.
