THIS is not something from a sci-fi movie. It’s here, now.

The Transition by Terrafugia is a car and plane rolled into one.

It recently got clearance from the US National Highway Safety Administration, so it’ll be available for purchase in the US by the end of 2011. One hundred people have already pre-ordered the $227,000 vehicles. Mind you, it’s a small price to pay. As Terrafugia states: ‘simply land at the airport, fold your wings up and drive home’.
