Flagstone Creek students rewarded for excellence

FLAGSTONE Creek State School was one of ten Darling Downs South West Region schools recognised with $1000 development grants as part of the Queensland Government's Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools.

The school was honoured in a special ceremony in Roma during State Education Week on Thursday, June 4.

The Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools acknowledge the innovative ways that schools build learning opportunities.

Flagstone Creek State School has been recognised for its program, Innovative School Community Learning in a Digital World.

Principal David Prestridge said the development grant of $1000 would be a boost for the school.

A judging panel will now decide the 24 state finalists to receive a further $5000 each in grants.

Eight state winners will be named at the Showcase Gala Dinner in October.
