UPDATE: A family of four was forced to climb out a window and leave their dog behind as fire engulfed their timber home in Dalby.

Firefighters saved the dog, which was locked in the bathroom of the Mary St home.

Three Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews battled the blaze, which broke out in the rear of the property about 9am.

Two adults and two toddlers were inside at the time and escaped the blaze without injury.

The home has been extensively damaged.

Authorities are investigating.

9.30AM: A home in Dalby has been extensively damaged in a fire this morning.

Three Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews extinguished the fire which broke out at a Mary St home about 9am.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were on scene but were not required, with no reports of injuries.

9.10AM: Firefighters are battling a house blaze in Dalby.

The fire in Mary St was reported to Queensland Fire and Emergency Services about 9am.

There are reports that the rear of the home is engulfed in flames.

The Queensland Ambulance Service has paramedics on standby at the house fire.

There are no patients are this stage.
