Firefighters battle flames as fire spreads from caravan

A CARAVAN has been destroyed in a blaze that also sparked a small grass fire in a Sunshine Coast suburban street.

Firefighters were called to Allora Dr, Maroochydore yesterday at 7.10pm after the caravan fire was reported.

By the time the two fire crews arrived, the structure was already well alight, officers said.

The fire had already spread to a grassy area next to the caravan.

Firefighters first battled the fire in the caravan, dousing the flames by 7.30pm.

They then had the grass fire extinguished by 7.45pm.

Paramedics were called to the scene and remained on standby, but nobody was injured in the fire.
