Fined for drunken night out in Gatton

A man has been fined after a drunken night out in Gatton led to his arrest.

Reece Raymond Quelhurst, 35, pleaded guilty to committing public nuisance within the vicinity of a licensed premises, consuming liquor of a road and urinating in a public place. Gatton Magistrates Court heard that police were called to the Royal Hotel in Gatton because of a disturbance at 11.30pm on December 6.

The court heard Quelhurst had been refused entry to the hotel by security and became agitated and argued with security.

Quelhurst made his way to the middle of the road, near the hotel, where there are centre car-parks.

He was observed to be drinking rum and urinating in the garden.

Security became concerned when the man was saying things such as "I just want to f****** kill somebody".

His outbursts continued for 45 minutes.

He was located by police and arrested.

He was fined $500.
