Morcombes' holiday smiles win over 50,000 Facebook fans

AFTER almost 10 years on an emotional roller-coaster, Bruce and Denise Morcombe have taken time out to enjoy a European holiday.

Just weeks after finally being able to lay their son Daniel to rest at a funeral attended by thousands, the couple have posted holiday snaps of themselves on the official Daniel Morcombe Foundation Facebook page.

On December 18, Bruce and Denise posted a photo of themselves looking a little cold, but the big smiles on their faces proved they were in good spirits.

The photo received more than 48,530 "likes" from followers.

The accompanying caption, written by Denise, said "Brrr. We are in Amsterdam and it is coolish. After a very busy and at times difficult 2012, Bruce and I are about to board for our Scenic Tour European Cruise.

"Our 15 night Christmas markets holiday down the Rhine ends in Budapest.

"I know so many people will be relieved to know that we do get a good break."

More than 5500 people commented on the post, with many supporting the couple using this time to heal and remember Daniel.

"You look as though many cares have been lifted from you," wrote one supporter.

"Concentrate on healing and renewal. Daniel would be looking on and smiling too."
