Emotional farewell for Pastor Noel
REDEEMER Lutheran Church, Laidley was packed for the emotional farewell of Rev Noel Noack.
It was his last worship service as Pastor of the Parish, and said he left with mixed feelings.
He was sad to be leaving an area which had given him such strong support.
Pastor Noel added that he was excited by the opportunity his new position as President of the Lutheran Church in Queensland would give him to travel widely through the State.
He wanted to encourage congregations in their mission of sharing the love of Christ.
Michael Gierke, Chair of the Lockyer Valley Lutheran Parish, said Pastor Noel would be missed.
He had helped in so many ways and shown a gentle spirit of understanding.
This was the kind of attitude that would be needed in his new role as head of the Lutheran Church in Queensland.
Michael wished Pastor Noel well in his new position and assured him of the support of the local Lockyer Valley Lutherans.
Ian Rickuss, MLA for Lockyer, said he was thankful for the encouragement and support that Pastor Noel had given to him.
Ian encouraged the gathering to be creative in seeking new ways to engage with the community.
Don Bichel said that the Lockrose Lutherans were looking forward to Pastor Noel's return when he would preach at the Centenary service of Green Pastures Lutheran Church, Lockrose.
This celebration would be held on Sunday, November 8 later this year.
Pastor Noel and Mrs Meg Noack spoke in thankfulness of the kind words of the gathering and assured them they would look forward to returning.
The Lockyer Valley had a special place in their hearts.
