Torched car suspected stolen

A CAR which was set alight at Condong on Wednesday night is believed to have been stolen, police say. 

Tweed-Byron LAC Inspector Gary Cowan said a person was seen running from the scene. 

It appears the vehicle was intentionally set alight, Insp Cowan said. 

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

EMERGENCY services attended a car alight on Cane Rd, Condong on Wednesday night. 

A Fire and Rescue NSW spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the scene just after 9pm. 

She said one crew from Murwillumbah attended, but the incident was in Rural Fire Service district. 

RFS Inspector Keith Moss confirmed their volunteers attended and contained the fire. 

An Ambulance NSW spokeswoman said while they attended the scene, paramedics did not treat any patients, or convey anyone to hospital.
