Egyptian President's power grab turns into mass protests
DEMONSTRATORS were camped out in Cairo's Tahrir Square in Egypt at the weekend after Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi moved to widen his executive powers last week.
Thousands of members of the Muslim Brotherhood held the rally in support of President Morsi, while many liberals were also out protesting the move on Sunday.
President Morsi moved to grant the new powers last week, which crucial go to the separation of powers in Egypt.
While the legislative assembly has approved the wide-ranging powers, Egyptians will get to vote on the new constitution in two weeks.
