PARRAMATTA fans and rugby league in general is holding its collective breath hoping giant Fijian winger Semi Radradra makes an appearance at Eels training tomorrow.
Radradra, who recently flew home to his village in Fiji to talk to his family about a big-money offer from French rugby club Bordeaux, has not shed any light on reports he would quit the Eels and switch codes.
Parramatta has insisted Radradra will be back with the club to prepare for this weekend’s big clash with NRL leader Cronulla after giving him permission to stay in Fiji for a few more days.
The Eels, who could be stripped of 12premiership points any day now for systematic salary cap rorting, are adamant Radradra is their property until 2017.
But with little to play for, Parramatta would be likely to agree to Radradra taking a short-term contract with Bordeaux provided he returned to the club early in the 2017 season.
Bordeaux has reportedly offered Radradra $800,000 and with just an 8% income tax bill, the deal is extremely attractive and more than doubles what he earns with the Eels.
If Radradra is a “no show” at training, Parramatta will have some explaining to do.
