Day 1 of Splendour in the Grass 2016 saw the Mayor of Splendour, sunny skies and lots of bands.

The biggest turnout was for The Strokes, and The Avalanches but it was Violent Soho who had the most insane crowd with security working overtime.

The Kills put on a spellbinding show, whiles there were many others things to go and look at in the Global Village.

The 1975 had the loudest screaming girls of the day and mostly everyone seemed to be having a great time round the festival grounds.
