Driving death accused faces court
A MAN charged with a Coolum driving death faced court yesterday.
Andrew David Muirhead stands charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and driving whilst a relevant drug is present, committed on July 27, 2017.
He also appeared on a single count of contravening a police direction or requirement committed on September 8.
Muirhead pleaded guilty in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court to the contravention, but the driving death charge was adjourned until October 30 for committal mention.
The court heard on August 31 Muirhead was issued with a notice to provide ID and DNA at the Maroochydore police station within seven days, but failed to do so.
He attended the station on September 8 and told police he had forgotten as he was busy working and trying to sell his home.
Magistrate Ron Madsen fined Muirhead $400 with no conviction recorded.
