A DRIVER has used their car as a weapon, aiming it at a young man and a teenager, according to police.
Police are investigating after a teenage boy was struck by a car at Currajong last night.
Police believe that around 10.25pm the 14-year-old boy was walking with a 21-year-old man when a vehicle that had been stopped at a stop sign accelerated towards them.
The pedestrians attempted to avoid the vehicle, with the man jumping onto grass at the side of the road as the teenager moved in the opposite direction into the middle of the road.
The vehicle then swerved away from a parked car at the side of the road and struck the 14-year-old causing him to be thrown to the roadway.
The vehicle, described as a black SUV, then drove around the injured boy and was last seen driving west along Grosvenor Street.
The 14-year-old Currajong boy was taken to the Townsville Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
