Driver allegedly scares motorists by waving a sword from car

POLICE arrested a man who was allegedly waving a sword from his vehicle in Maroochydore yesterday.

Witnesses described the driver as "aggressive" when he pulled up at traffic lights at Sugar Rd.

It is believed the man produced the knife and gestured towards other drivers.

Police intercepted the man on Aerodrome Rd after emergency calls from several people about 9.20am.

The 25-year-old man was charged with drug driving, going armed as to cause fear and driving without due care and attention.
