Dough! Stop Adani pizza fail

A PLAN by anti-Adani activists to use pizza to raise money and spread awareness of a political agenda has backfired.

The activists set up a special Stop Adani menu on Domino's Pizza Mogul website.

The menu featured four types of vegan pizzas.

Domino's Pizza Mogul is a website and app that allows people to create their own pizzas, share them with social networks and earn a slice of the profit.

The #StopAdaniVegan pizzas would have earned the activist movement between $0.50 and $0.75 for each pizza sold.

The Stop Adani movement is widely followed on social media and various social media pages have been advertising the pizzas.

The Stop Adani Townsville page confirmed a range of Stop Adani pizzas had been created on the Domino's Mogul Pizza online menu.

"If you have any ideas for a pizza combination/name then email: stop.adani.townsville @gmail.com and we will add it to the #StopAdani Menu," it said.

Galilee Blockade also posted yesterday: "#StopAdani Pizza! Each pizza ordered raises cash.

"Maybe your local Adani-loving politician would like a special delivery?"

The Bulletin contacted Domino's to ask if political campaigns were allowed as part of the Domino's Mogul Pizza menus.

A Domino's spokesman responded by saying the Stop Adani pizza website would be shut down.

"Pizza Mogul was set up as a fun way for pizza lovers to create their own pizzas and share them with their social networks," the spokesman said.

"The use of brand names and trademarks is a breach of the terms and conditions of Pizza Mogul, and the pizzas have now been removed from the website."

The Bulletin contacted Stop Adani Townsville for comment.
