Distinguished honour for Mal

MAL Joyner, the current President of the Gatton Lions Club recently received the James D Richardson Honour Award for service to Lions and the Local Community.

He has been an active member of the Gatton Lions Club and holds 100 per cent service for over 34 years.

Mal has filled most positions in the Gatton Lions Club including treasurer on three occasions and president for six terms.

Mal has served his community not only through the Lions Club but also with his involvement in many other organisations throughout the district.

These include 26 years as a year seven school teacher and a relieving principal in a number of small schools; 20 years as a small business proprietor; a committee member of early days of Blue Nurses, the Lockyer Valley Flying Club, Lockyer Better Business (Gatton Chamber of Commerce), Gatton Street Security Camera System and a Master of the Gatton Masonic Lodge.
