Disney gator attack: Two-year-old boy found dead.

THE body of a two-year-old boy who witnesses say was pulled by an alligator into a lagoon near a Walt Disney World hotel in Florida has been found dead.

CNN reports the body of Lane Graves was found at 1.45pm, not far from where the boy was grabbed on Tuesday night, according to Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings.

Mr Demings said it was likely the boy drowned.

"Of course, the autopsy has to confirm that, but there is likely no question in my mind that the child was drowned by the alligator," Mr Demings said.

The boy was discovered only about 13m from where the boy was taken.

The gator grabbed the child as his family watched an outdoor movie at the Grand Floridian resort.

The boy waded into about 10cm of water when the gator attacked.

CNN reports the boy's parents tried to save him.

His father jumped into the water to try and pry the beast's mouth open. The boy's mother also attempted to help.

It was not enough to save the boy, who was dragged underwater int he nearby lagoons.

After a night of searching, and the closure of all beaches in the Disney resort area, the boy's remains were discovered the following afternoon.
