Demand for tradies skyrockets after flooding disaster

DEMAND for tradespeople is skyrocketing as New South Wales, Queensland, the ACT and Tasmania work to repair a billion dollar damage bill caused by this week's storms.

Tradies listing service says electricians, roof repairers, tree fellers, waterproofers and gutter fixers are flat out as demand for their services spikes.

For example, since last Friday requests for people capable of fixing roofs in NSW increased by 1015% and in Queensland demand was up 211%.

NSW also saw an increase of 200% in emergency-related jobs requiring electricians and window repairs.
