Darren Jolly: the moment I was told I had a brain tumour
THE Block star and former football player Darren Jolly has spoken out about of the shock of his life: being told he had a tumour on his brain.
In Channel Nine's adds for this weeks episodes of The Block, you see that Darren Jolly is taken to hospital.
What was revealed last night on A Current Affair is that the former footballer has had to undergo surgery to remove a lump on his brain.
The 33-year-old said he initially thought he had a common headache.
"The headache went for three days straight which didn't seem right," he told Tracy Grimshaw on A Current Affair Monday night.
"He (the doctor) said you've got a lump on your brain.
"I'm only 33, that wasn't part of the plan."
Luckily, the lump has been found to be begnin cyst. "It just ended up being a cyst. It was nothing dangerous which was fantastic news for us," Deanne said.
The cyst was immediately removed and the fluid drained, leaving two large wounds on Jolly's head.
Doctor's told him it was unrelated to his football career with Melbourne, Sydney and Collingwood clubs.
"It's just a freaky occurence," he said.
"One minute I was doing some work on The Block, the next minute I was in hospital being operated on," he told A Current Affair's Tracey Grimshaw. "We've had a really lousy run."
