Dads serve up luscious twist
MY Kitchen Rules may be done and dusted for the year but that hasn't stopped Queensland contestants Paul Bullpitt and Blair Tonkin from sharing their love of food.
The duo, who made it to the semi-final of this year's show, have released their first cook book titled 2 Dads: Food for family and friends, which hit bookstore shelves at the beginning of the month.
Paul, who is originally from Bundaberg, said the book is filled with a refreshing and contemporary collection of recipes with some Asian-inspired twists.
"This cook book represents our love for healthy, clean food," he said.
"We want to show people that whole food eating is simple, easy and delicious."
Paul and Blair believe cooking for your loved ones shouldn't be a trial and they have come up with a great selection of recipes that the whole family can enjoy together.
"Our passion for food stems from our love of eating," Paul said.
"My family and I always sit down for a nice big meal together. Eating good food gets people talking and socialising - that is what I love most about it."
Growing up in Bundaberg, Paul and his two brothers were always treated to delicious meals from mum Anne and credits her for his enthusiasm for good cooking.
"Mum has always been a big inspiration," he said.
"I love her cooking and have even included one of her recipes in the new book."
With recipes for lunch, dinner, breakfast, snacks and treats, Paul and Blair will have you making tasty and nutritious meals with ease that won't break the budget.
Choose from chorizo and eggs for breakfast, Annie's zucchini slice, caramel pork, Thai chicken with fragrant rice and banana bread with cinnamon butter for an indulgent treat.
"Each recipe is delicious and really simple to make," Paul said.
"If two average blokes like us can do it, anyone can!"
