Cyril's speccy puts him out of Saints clash

HE MAY win himself a car, but Cyril Rioli's spectacular grab against West Coast last week has cost him a spot in the Hawks' line-up to face St Kilda in Launceston on Saturday.

The superstar forward is out with a hip injury after being unable to train during the week.

Coach Alastair Clarkson said Rioli should be back for next week's game against Melbourne.

"Cyril took that speccy, and maybe won mark of the year, but misses the next week with a jarred hip, so that's a bit of a shame," Clarkson said.

"He played really well, had his best game for the year, so it would have been great if he could have followed up, but sometimes that can't be the case."

The Hawks, who have won their past 19 games in Launceston, regains Jaeger O'Meara.

"Hopefully he can get his season up and going now," Clarkson said.

Saints coach Alan Richardson, whose side is 2-3, said he always expected the Hawks to bounce back after a 0-4 start.

"There's too much talent in the group (and) there's a lot of pride that's been built up over a long time ... it was no surprise," he said.
