Cuskelly continues good form

FORMER Evans Head squash player Ryan Cuskelly made it three Australians in the second round of the Kuwait Cup tournament when he downed the higher-ranked Malaysian Ong Beng Hee in straight games.

Cuskelly was in great touch as he defeated the Malaysian veteran 11-6 11-7 11-9 to set upa second-round clash with 14th seeded Eng-lishman Adrian Grant.

The 24-year-old has taken a good run of form into the Super Series event, having won in Vancouver and reaching the semi-finals in Pittsburgh in recent weeks.

"I've had a really good month so I'm feeling confident and really wanted to win today," Cuskelly said.

"That's what made the difference between us."

He joins fellow AIS players Cameron Pilley, of Yamba, and Stewart Boswell in the second round.

Under a trial draw system in place for the Kuwait Cup, Pilley and Boswell were handed direct passage into the second round.

Pilley takes on Eng-lishman Chris Ryder while Boswell is up against South African Steve Coppinger.
