Curry’s Rushing Syndrome a mystery

RUSHING Women's Syndrome? Lisa Curry said it was at the root of her break-up with Grant Kenny, but it would appear she and her naturopath might be among a handful who have ever heard of it.

The diagnosis, which the 52-year-old former swim star revealed on A Current Affair, certainly didn't have many fans on social media.

Lisa said the syndrome drove her to "act like a bitch" and put strain on her marriage.

The term has been coined by biochemist Dr Libby Weaver, who describes it as "the symptoms women suffer when they constantly feel like there is too much to do".

"They feel like there just aren't enough hours in the day. They get impatient or overwhelmed easily, and at times feel like they just can't cope with all that's on their plate," Dr Libby says on her website,

The syndrome was news to Dr Mason Stevenson, AMA Queensland regional GP representative, who admitted he had "never heard of it", but wasn't unhappy to hear the term existed.

"There is a growing appreciation for the pressure that is placed on modern women trying to juggle a career and a family," he said.

"We have called this lots of other things such as stress, anxiety and at times reactive depression, but it was probably only a matter of time before it was given a syndrome label. That's fine if it draws attention to this modern scourge."

What you thought:

Con Comino Here's a few syndromes I could think of. Thinking that anyone remotely cares syndrome. Wasting my time reading about non existent syndromes syndrome. Wasting my time posting comments on Facebook syndrome.

Ann Jacques I agree a naturopath isn't real advice, money making for treating hypochondriacs, they put people at risk with real symptoms who should seek medical advice.

Ej Randall Is seems like a pathetic excuse for bad behaviour. She seemed ok in the 2nd marriage so this just a pathetic excuse for bad behaviour

Karen Ritson Well, mission accomplished...we are all talking about her again. She is full of crap. Ego driven and not happy that she is out of the limelight again. Who cares????

Cherie Hamilton Seems to be a few suffering from rushing syndrome here. Is it contagious?....reow.

Robbie Eayrs I didn't realise that being a woman was classed as a syndrome.
