Crime Stoppers receive donation

SENSATIONAL fresh seafood was on the menu at the Withcott Hotel's recent fund-raising event held Friday, October 22 with Lockyer Valley Crime Stoppers being the community group to benefit from the day's activities.

Well known television and radio personality Billy J Smith was MC with former Queensland State of Origin player, Steve Walters, as guest speaker.

Billy J was his usual entertaining best bringing laughs throughout the afternoon while Steve Walters shared some of his football experiences with diners.

An auction and raffle took place with $620 donated to Lockyer Valley Crime Stoppers to continue their work in the community.

“Thank you Neil and Gae Simpson of the Withcott Hotel for your generosity and hospitality.

“These funds will assist in making our community a safer place for all,” Chairperson Lockyer Valley Crime Stoppers, Janice Holstein, said.

The next Crime Stoppers fundraising event is Thursday, November 4 with a Bowls night at Laidley Bowls Club.

Bookings and tickets can be made by calling 0438 623 051.

The next fund-raising luncheon at the Withcott Hotel will be held on February 4 with football great, Shane Webcke, as MC.
