NRL GRAND FINAL: How the Cowboys players rated

Lachlan Coote 7 Chimed in well in attack and helped out a busted Johnathan Thurston with a few kicks. Couldn't help but give away a penalty for a double movement in an effort to score.

Kyle Feldt 7 ½ Some good kick returns and made 60m in the first half. Scored one of the all-time great grand-final tries with no time left.

Justin O'Neill 7 ½ Brilliant first half with 108m and scored a nice try off a beautiful pass from Jake Granville.

Kane Linnett 6 Dropped the ball which would have levelled up the scores with the try-line beckoning in the 61st minute. Strong defensively.

Antonio Winterstein 7 Helped out his forwards with 95 first-half metres. Another reliable effort.

Michael Morgan 8 Ran hard all game. Made one of the all-time great grand final offloads with no time left on the clock to put Feldt over.

Johnathan Thurston (capt) 9 Looked slower than usual after taking calf and groin injuries into the game, but produced an extraordinary play to keep the ball alive for Feldt's try right on 80 minutes. A true champion, he then went on to become the worthy kicker of the winning field goal during golden point, in one of the great grand finals of all time.

Matthew Scott (capt) 7 Worked himself to a standstill in first 23-minute stint, and equally effective when he came back on in the second stanza.

Jake Granville 8 Outstanding first 10 minutes got his team on the front foot. Brilliant little dart from a scrum and offload to O'Neill to score under posts.

James Tamou 7 ½ Tough and physical. Barged over for try from close range in the 25th minute. Lifted in the finals.

Gavin Cooper 6 Quieter first half than usual with Thurston not at his usual brilliant best and the Broncos defence aware of the connection between the pair.

Ethan Lowe 8 High work rate in attack and defence. Turned into a reliable contributor as the season unfolded.

Jason Taumalolo 7 Attracted multiple defenders at times, but not his usual blockbusting best.

Rory Kostjasyn 5 Not much involvement off the bench. Solid, but not as dangerous as Granville during his turn on the field

John Asiata 5 Good effort off the bench in the second half. Ran the ball at the line strongly. Developing into a handy player.

Scott Bolton 6 Nice impact off bench, worked hard in attack and defence.

Ben Hannant 7 Strong work off the bench as always. Ran the ball hard at the line and also defended well. No doubt pleased the Broncos didn't want him.
