COURTNEY Burgess won't go anywhere without making sure she's tanned. A recent survey showed that 87% of Australian women are now using fake tan.
And she's not alone.
A recent survey showed that 87% of Australian women are now using fake tan, ensuring they get that sun kissed glow the safe way.
For Courtney, getting a spray tan or applying one from a bottle, is all part of her normal beauty regime.
"I do self tans and I'm highly addicted to them," she said.
Courtney knows it's a better option than using tanning beds, which she had tried in the past.
"I did use them as a teen but realised that I shouldn't be doing that, and I have such fair skin, it was silly to do," Courtney said.
The 25-year-old gets a spray tan once a week, or will use tan from a bottle to make sure she's got that perfect glow.
"I see a big difference (when I have a fake tan), I couldn't wear shorts without a tan," Courtney said.
"But every now and then I need to have a break to let my skin breathe."
While Courtney has her own tanning system at home and hits the beauty salon as well, the survey by Sunescape revealed that 82% of women confess to having a bad DIY tanning disaster.
One in four women also admits they aren't skilled at putting on their own tan.
But after applying fake tans since she was 15 years old, this isn't a problem for Courtney.
