ONE of the men accused of murdering Shaun Baker and dumping his body in the Toolara State Forest between Rainbow Beach and Gympie has appeared briefly in court.

William Francis Dean, 37, was charged in Toowoomba earlier this month with murder, torture, deprivation of liberty and interfering with a corpse over the death of the Gold Coast man.

His two co-accused, Stephen John Armitage, 45, and Matthew Leslie Armitage, 22, from Cooloola Cove, near Tin Can Bay, have been charged with the same offences.

Mr Barker, 33, was last seen at a Gold Coast service station on December 10 last year

His body was allegedly burnt and buried in the Toolara State Forest where his remains were discovered on April 10 this year.

Dean's solicitor Jodie Mair fronted Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday and requested the matter be adjourned so it could line up with the court date set aside next month for his co-accused.

She said she did not require her client to attend the next hearing.

Magistrate Judith Daley granted the application and ordered the matter be set down for mention in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 3.
