Court date set for man who allegedly tried to run over cop

AN IPSWICH man charged with attempting to murder a police officer will have his matter heard on December 15.

Magistrate Linda Bradford-Morgan listed Darryl Reg Albert Hayes's case for callover in the Brisbane Magistrates Court.

Mr Hayes allegedly reversed his 4WD towards a police officer on July 14 in Holland Park.

The officer was attempting to intercept the vehicle at the time and fired at least six shots at the oncoming Mitsubishi Pajero.

Mr Hayes also faces other charges, including acts intended to cause bodily harm.
