Murder accused appears in court

THE man accused or murdering a Laidley man in a fight in Nanango last weekend faced Kingaroy Magistrates Court .

Police allege Nanango man Stephen Doyle, 38, stabbed Michael Thomsen of Laidley,37, at a family party on Saturday.

A well-dressed Doyle was taken handcuffed into court, where he was accused of murder.

In a short appearance, Doyle was remanded in custody until his next appearance, on November 10.

Doyle is accused of stabbing Mr Thomsen once in the chest at the private party when a fight broke out about 6.30pm.

Police and ambulance were called to the Fitzroy St house.

Mr Thomsen was transported to the Nanango Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
