Convoy returns to Gatton

THE annual Lights on the Hill Convoy returns to the Lockyer Valley and to the Gatton Showgrounds on February 25.

Following the surprise resignation of Lights on the Hill founder Kathy White, an interim committee has been elected and has been working flat out to stage the annual convoy around its more usual running time in the early part of the year.

The interim committee's second meeting last weekend provided the group with the opportunity to meet and greet councillor Janice Holstein and to thank the council for its considerable support and to re-affirm the interim committee's commitment to continuing the annual event and the annual memorial day in the spirit it was originally intended.

"Council is looking forward to working with the new committee and having the Lights on the Hill's convoy and memorial day go from strength to strength," Cr Holstein said

"I'd like to thank the Council for their on-going support," Lights on the Hill's interim committee president Gary Simpson said.

"The new committee is really looking forward to working with the council."

The Lights on the Hill Convoy will be held on Saturday, February 25, with the main section of the convoy leaving the BP truck stop at Archerfield around 10am while the second part of the convoy will leave Toowoomba around the same time.
