Condamine River still rising on Western Downs

THE Condamine River is still rising this morning in a number of locations west of Toowoomba.

At Cecil Plains, the river was just 22cm below the bridge at 7am today, and rising.

The town is likely to be cut off within 24 hours for the second time in six weeks.

Moderate flood levels have been reached at Condamine, where the community of 370 is steeling for the possibility of being cut off late today or early tomorrow.

The Condamine River at Brigalow Bridge, near Chinchilla, is still recording major flood levels, at 12.37m and rising.

Meanwhile, the flood-hit community of Dalby is continuing the clean up today, with the Warwick Geisel Bridge on Patrick Street reopening yesterday afternoon.
