Community forum a success

Laidley residents have hailed Wednesday night's community forum a success, with close to 500 people attending the Laidley Cultural Centre.

Although fiery at times, the crowd was willing to hear from Lockyer Valley Regional Council engineers and Mayor Steve Jones, as well as State Member for Lockyer Ian Rickuss.

While no firm plans could be confirmed to the community at the meeting, both Cr Jones and Mr Rickuss made it clear work on solutions to Laidley's flooding problems are progressing.

The Gatton Star thanks everyone who attended, and will continue to follow the story as more information is released from the LVRC and the State Government.
