Comedy hits the stage in Laidley

SOUNDS of laughter will be heard emanating from the Laidley Cultural Centre this Friday night as a classic English comedy hits the stage.

For the past three months cast and crew from the Lockyer Regional Performing Arts have worked tirelessly to recreate the English comedy The White Sheep of the Family with opening night this Friday.

Director Godfrey Bathurst said it was a very cleverly written play involving a family of criminals which would provide a night full of entertainment.

"It's a really new genre for the Valley," Mr Bathurst said.

"It's to give the Lockyer Valley and region a night of entertainment and we really need to keep the genre going."

The White Sheep of the Family will show on October 14, 15 and 22 at 7.30pm with a matinee show on Sunday, October 23 from 2pm.

Tickets are available from NewsXpress Laidley from $12 for adults and $10 for concession. Tickets will be available at the door.
