Coles lodges plans for Glenvale shopping centre

A NEW major shopping centre could soon be built in Glenvale after Coles Group Property lodged an application with Toowoomba Regional Council.

Coles plans to build the shopping centre on a vacant lot of land at the intersection of Glenvale Rd and Greenwattle St.

A similar development was approved by Toowoomba City Council in 2007.

However, development delays on the proposed The Glen shopping centre have plagued the site since that approval was granted.

Coles Property Group purchased the land in June this year..

In September, demolition crews removed a long-abandoned house located at the site of the proposed shopping centre.
