Female motorcyclist run down by 'maniac in 4WD'

A DRIVER who collided with a motorcyclist last night could be linked to reports of dangerous driving in the area just minutes before the smash.
A 32-year-old woman Cristy Smith was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital last night with leg injuries after the smash with a dual cab ute at Rosemount last night at 9.19pm.
She suffered three compound fractures in her right leg.
The 38-year-old male driver of the ute was not injured in the collision at the intersection of Petrie Creek Rd and Paynters Creek Rd.
Nambour resident Cassandra Parlett published a warning on social media after witnessing a near-miss with a dangerous driver in a car matching the description of the ute.

She reported the dark dual cab ute was overtaking traffic at high speeds with high-beam headlights on, almost colliding with an oncoming car, then drove erratically until it pulled over, did a U-turn, and drove back in the other direction.
She recorded the incident on dashcam, and said she would hand the footage in to police this morning.
Her two-year-old son was in the car at the time.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said officers would be looking into the incident, and investigations were ongoing.
Mrs Smith's partner Bradley was involved in a crash with a car just two weeks ago.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help the family support their three children while they recover.
