Cirque de Soleil: Toruk - The First Flight

Cirque du Soleil's Toruk, The First Flight is 'breathtaking'

IN A modern translation of circus, Cirque du Soleil continues to captivate with their latest production, Toruk - The First Flight.

In transporting the audience to Pandora, the mythical world of the Na'vi; the cast bring fantasy to life in a visual masterpiece of stunning scenery and breathtaking feats.

Inspired by James Cameron's film Avatar, the latest Cirque du Soleil touring production is in Brisbane until October 15.

Taking a different direction in venue, Toruk has moved from the Chapeau at Hamilton into the Brisbane Entertainment Centre at Boondal. As usual though, everyone thinks they have the best seat in the house.

Like other Cirque du Soleil productions, Toruk takes everyone on a sensory journey. Set about 3000 years before the events of the film Avatar, the story details the adventures of the first Toruk Makto.

When a natural catastrophe threatens to destroy the sacred Tree of Souls, two Omaticava boys take matters to task in proving their coming of age. Together with a new friend, their mission takes them on a mystical journey to save the Na'vi from disaster.

Skilled as always, the performers are the show. They slink about with such agility and passion, it could be their one and only performance of the season.

This is one flight you won't want to miss.
