Chopper searches for missing three-year-old girl

POLICE are searching for three people - including a three-year-old girl - missing in Far North Queensland.

The girl, a 36-year-old man and a 42-year-old man are missing on a private property 40 kilometres north of Mt Surprise.

Police were told the trio were missing around 10.30am today.

They left an address in Kuranda to explore a property in Mt Surprise and last spoke with family via mobile phone on Saturday afternoon.

They have not been heard from since.

The last known location is believed to be either McDonald or Lancewood Creek, where they were waiting for the water to subside before crossing and exiting the property at Elizabeth Creek.

Police hold concerns for their safety due to the flooded waterways and access to food and drinking water.

A search involving the Rescue Helicopter 510 is being organised.
